Elmer L. Lafollette

Elmer L. Lafollette, 76, of Cambridge, died Friday (May 25, 2007) at his home. He was born on December 26, 1930 in Cambridge, son of the late Roy Lafollette and Leona (Moffett) Lafollette. Mr. Lafollette retired from The Ford Motor Company after several years of service. He was a member of the Guernsey County Veterans Council, Cambridge VFW Post 2901, Cambridge American Legion Post, Cambridge Eagles Aerie 386 and Cambridge Moose Lodge 631. He was past commander of the Kipling VFW Post. Mr. Lafollette enjoyed hunting, fishing and working charitable functions. He cherished the many good times spent with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three wives, Jeanie, Mildred and Gladys; a son, Nathan Davis; two brothers, Tabby Lafollette and Junior Lafollette; and a sister, Betty Whittenton. He leaves four daughters, Amanda (& David) Hamilton of Marietta, Melanie (& Tim) Bell of Florida, Anna (& Rick) Pauley of Virginia and Holly Dudley of Byesville; a half-brother, Ronnie McElroy of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Carol Lafollette of Cambridge; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (May 29, 2007) from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 2 p.m. with Evang. Mark Beros officiating. The Guernsey County Veterans Council will perform military graveside services at the funeral home at the conclusion of the funeral. Burial will held at a later date.
