Elsie I. Siegfried

Elsie I. Siegfried, 94, of Cambridge, died Sunday (July 4, 2010) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. She was born February 11, 1916 in Byesville, daughter of the late Carl Gooden and Alice (Lahue) Gooden. Mrs. Siegfried retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital, where she had worked as a supervisor. She also had worked at Cambridge Glass and Universal Pottery for several years. Mrs. Siegfried operated Siegfried's Upholstery with her husband, Russell, for many years in Cambridge. She was a member of the Guernsey County Senior Citizens and loved working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Siegfried, who died February 10, 1986; two sisters, Freda Rahm and infant Daisy; and three brothers, Harry, Albert and Larry Gooden. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and her special close friends and neighbors. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 8, 2010) at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Neff officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
