Ervin F. Morris, 90, of Cambridge, died Thursday (April 9, 2020) at his home.

He was born July 11, 1929 in Seminole OK, son of the late Daniel M. Morris and Lula (Harp) Morris.

Ervin went to work in the oil field with his father early in life. He was self-employed in the oil drilling industry and operated Morris Well Service for many years.

He was a Shriner, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite. He raised buffalo as a hobby and had a private plane that he loved to fly.

Ervin was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melody J. (Pritchett) Morris. They were married February 2, 1951. Also deceased is a brother, Robert Morris; and a sister, Juanita Malone.

He is survived by three daughters, Diana Sue (Tom) Craemer of Fairborn, Nanette Jean (Dan) Moss of Springfield, and Christine Ann (William) Orsborn of Newark; a sister, Delores Compton of Carmi IL; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private services were held for the family with burial following at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge. Military graveside honors were conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.

As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Shriners Hospitals for Children, ATTN: Office of Development, 2900 N Rocky Point Dr, Tampa FL 33607; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
