Esther Mae Carpenter

Esther Mae Carpenter, 84, of Quaker City, died Wednesday (June 19, 2019) at Summit Acres of Caldwell.

She was born October 30, 1934 in Noble County, daughter of the late Paul Mallett and Tillie (Thompson) Mallett.

Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and worked on the family farm.

She was a fifty-year member of the Barnesville Order of the Eastern Star #206 and a Past Worthy Matron.

She enjoyed reading and attending Eastern Star meetings. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Carpenter attended Batesville High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Conda Carpenter; a brother, Larry Mallett; and a sister, Donna Randles.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Herbert D. Carpenter, whom she married April 14, 1951; a brother, Duryl (& Sue) Mallett of Cambridge; a sister, Ruth (& Hugh) Hastings of Grove City; two grandchildren, Konna (& Steve) Pekarcik of Columbus and Shawn (& Jen) Carpenter of Dublin; and five great-grandchildren, Hanna Mae Pekarcik, Isaac Pekarcik, Juliet Pekarcik, Quentin Carpenter, and Cale Carpenter.

Visitation will be held Monday (June 24, 2019) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.

Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
