Evelyn L. Kelly, 93, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Saturday (January 31, 2009) at Scioto Retirement Community, Columbus. She was born on April 25, 1915 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William A. Kelly and Ida Mae (Huff) Kelly. Miss Kelly retired in 1975 from Bonhams Department Store, where she had been an accounts receivable clerk for thirty-three years. She was a 1934 graduate of Brown High School and a member of the Cambridge Business & Professional Gals. Miss Kelly was a member of the Ninth Street United Methodist Church of Cambridge, where she had held several offices in the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Atkinson; and two brothers-in-law, Roy Foraker and Weldon Atkinson. She is survived by a sister, Alice Foraker of Columbus; three nephews, Donice Foraker of Buckeye Lake, William (& Karen) Foraker of Zanesville and Ronald (& Brenda) Foraker of Marysville; two nieces, Carol (& Jay) Horne of Columbus and Elizabeth (& William) Mack of Hemet CA; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several cousins. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (February 4, 2009) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Chaplain Larry Reed-Farris officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Heartland Hospice, 6460 Busch Blvd, Suite 137, Columbus OH 43229.
