Everett Leon Wilkey, 84, of Cambridge, died Sunday (February 12, 2017) at the Beckett House at New Concord. He was born February 11, 1933 in Lupton City TN, son of the late Everett J. Wilkey and Evelyn M. (Swafford) Wilkey. Mr. Wilkey was a production line worker for B.F. Goodrich Company for many years. He played music with "The Country Wheels Band" for over thirteen years. He also enjoyed leatherworking. Mr. Wilkey was a member of the United Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa (McKenzie) Wilkey; and a brother, Ronald S. Wilkey. He is survived by four sons, Jeffrey (& Michalene) Wilkey of Pataskala, Charles Wilkey of Lakewood, Brian Wilkey of Zanesville, and Benjamin Wilkey of Cambridge; a brother, Robert J. (& Nancy) Wilkey of Akron; two grandchildren, Tara (& Don) Porter and Tyler (& Victoria) Wilkey; and two great-grandchildren, Payton Porter and Paxton Porter. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held Sunday (February 19, 2017) at 3 p.m. at the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center (1022 Carlisle Avenue, Cambridge). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Everett's name to The Ohio State University School of Music Scholarship Fund, 425 Stillman Hall, 1947 College Drive, Columbus OH 43210.
