**Please note: There has been a change in visitation hours. Details listed below.** Faye C. Johnson, 88, of Salesville, died Wednesday (July 9, 2008) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. She was born on August 17, 1919 in Middlebourne, daughter of the late Lawson Scott Carter and Elma Laura (Hall) Carter. Mrs. Johnson retired in 1981 from the Fred Raymond Company, where she had been a seamstress for ten years. She was a member of the Middlebourne United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson was a member and president of Middlebourne United Methodist Women, a member of Leatherwood Senior Citizens and also a member of the Gibson Homemakers. She was a past 4-H leader and organized the Putney Ridge Stitchers in 1941. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Trimmer and Gladys Galloway; and a brother-in-law, Jack Weir. She leaves her husband, Roy M. Johnson of the home, whom she married on August 24, 1940; three sons, Larry L. (& Nancy) Johnson of Salesville, Kenneth C. (& Arletta) Johnson of Salesville and Randall E. (& Gwen) Johnson of Conway SC; a daughter, Linda S. (& Richard) Cox of Salesville; a sister-in-law, Hazel Weir of Lancaster TX; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held on Saturday (July 12, 2008) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Beth Mansperger and Pastor Richard Cox officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
