Florence I. (Gross) Sorrell Heath, 95, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (January 12, 2010). She was born August 2, 1914 in Crooksville, daughter of the late Samuel Gross and Bessie (Dennis) Gross. Mrs. Heath was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening and canning. She attended the Pentecostal Community Chapel for twenty years. She recently began attending the Good Shepherd Four-Square Gospel Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Sorrell, who died in 1951; her second husband, Jack Heath, who died in 1992; a brother, Frank Gross; three sisters, Goldie Camp, Stella Stephenson and Dorothy Evaline Gross; and four grandchildren. She is survived by five sons, Samuel Sorrell of Gary IN, Harvey (& Thelma) Sorrell of IL, Paul (& Jean) Sorrell of Highland IN, Robert Hessel of Lima and Robert Heath of Cambridge; seven daughters, Violet Mayle of Cambridge, Betty Craig of Buckeye Lake, Dorothy "Marie" Hanning of Cambridge, Marjorie (& George) Hanning of Cambridge, Janet Wamack of Cambridge, Joyce (& Sam) Lovejoy of Zanesville and Rosie (& Mike) Bobb of Crooksville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Saturday (January 16, 2010) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dorothy "Marie" Hanning officiating. Burial will be at Shawnee Cemetery in Perry County.
