Florence Spencer

Florence Spencer, 89, of Canton, died Thursday (November 13, 2014) at The Pines Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Canton. She was born June 15, 1925 in Canton, daughter of the late Lorenzo Stolfo and Rosa (Polombo) Stolfo. She was a strong-willed and feisty woman who loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, coloring, and caring for her animals. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Spencer, who died in 2002. She is survived by two sons, Mike Spencer of Canton and Herman (Gina) Bishard of Cambridge; six daughters, Barbara (Tom) Mayle of Canton, Maria (Terry) McFarland of Columbus, Sandra Hall of Cambridge, Laura (Robert) Friebis of Columbus, Darlene (Charles) Snyder of Dover, and Marge Davis of Cambridge; twenty grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Wednesday (November 19, 2014) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Dan Milburn officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery.
