Forrest Elmer Quarles

July 10, 1933 — December 8, 2016

Forrest Elmer Quarles, 83, of Cambridge, died Thursday (December 8, 2016) at Coshocton Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 10, 1933 in Cambridge, son of the late Elmer F. Quarles Sr. and Mary Hannah (Fisher) Quarles. Mr. Quarles had worked at Ohio Bridge as a heavy machine operator for forty years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #30 F. & A.M. He was a 1951 graduate of Cambridge High School. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan. Mr. Quarles was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Flowers and Mary Ellen Mack; and his special friends, Donna Whitaker and Freddy Hollins. He is survived by three daughters, Camille Quarles of Canton, Robin (& Kevin) Quarles-Dillard of Anchorage AK, and Debra Quarles (& Russell Gallaher) of Los Angeles CA; a brother, Bill (& Cindy) Quarles of Cambridge; a grandchild, Erika Quarles; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (December 16, 2016) with Pastor Randolph White officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
