Frances G. (Bradshal) Gay

Frances G. (Bradshal) Gay, 87, a forty-year resident of Cambridge, died Wednesday (March 17, 2010) at the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 10, 1922 in Byesville, daughter of the late Sam Bradshal and Mary Bessie (Noble) Bradshal. Ms. Gay worked at Timken Roller Bearing for six years. She was a 1943 graduate of Byesville High School and also a graduate of The Ohio State University and Malone Christian College, receiving a nurse's aide degree. Ms. Gay was a US Navy Waves veteran, where she earned the rank of Pharmacists Mate, 3rd class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred R. Bradshaw and John H. Bradshaw. She is survived by three nieces, Karen Prouty of Lore City, Bessie Abrams of Pleasant City and Darlene Garner of Byesville; three nephews, Sam Bradshaw of Byesville, Fred Bradshaw of Pleasant City and Raymond Bradshaw of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Virginia "Susie" Bradshaw of Pleasant City; and her special friend, Pastor Barbara Henderson. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held on Friday (March 19, 2010) at 1:00 p.m. at Northwood Cemetery with Pastor Barbara Henderson officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
