Frances R. Watson

Frances R. Watson, 89, of Newcomerstown, passed away February 18, 2022, at Riverside Manor Nursing Home.

Frances was born April 7, 1932, in Barberton, Ohio, a daughter of the late James C. Fisher and Florence (Cook) Fisher.

Frances was a Methodist by Faith and spent a lot of her time as a Dairy Farmer, but also enjoyed working at The Duke Motel in Newcomerstown. Frances was an active, outdoors loving woman; she loved planting flowers and gardening and was a lifelong homemaker. Most of all, Frances enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Watson, whom she married on March 17, 1950, and passed away January 6, 1990. She is also preceded in death by her son Gary Watson; her five sisters, Lena Buchanon, Leona Werts, Dorothy Rogers, Jeanette Jeffers, and Arlene Martini; a brother, Charles J Fisher; and a niece Amy Wilson.

Frances is survived by her son, Harvey (& Sandra) Watson Jr. of Gnadehutten; three daughters, Cynthia (& John) Orr of Kimbolton, Suzanne Wilson of Cambridge, and Barbara (& Larry) Gribble of Newcomerstown; her sister, Thelma Sine of Akron; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be observed on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Pastor David Wiley will be officiating. Burial will follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens in Cambridge.

Family and Friends are welcome, but due to COVID- 19 please take all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and everyone else's should you decide to attend.
