Franciene K. "Katie" Walker Truman, 67, of Cambridge, died Monday (March 30, 2015) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born August 29, 1947 in Newcomerstown, daughter of the late Alvie Truman and Evelyn Clayton. Franciene had formerly worked at Lumi-Lite. She enjoyed crocheting, planting flowers, and making jewelry. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Newcomerstown. She is survived by a son, Malik Z. Clayton of Minnesota; two daughters, Joanne L. Stevens of Cambridge and Jeannette L. (& James) Beatty of Newcomerstown; five brothers, Albert Truman of Florida, Randy Truman of Cambridge, Greg Truman of Florida, Joseph Black of New Philadelphia, and William Black of California; four sisters, Elaine Brown of California, JoAnne Beatty of Newcomerstown, Clara (& Steve) O'Conner of Cambridge, and Gertrude Truman of Indiana; six grandchildren, Preston, Perry, James, Justin, Delaney, and Trajen; a great-granddaughter, Jayden Lynn; several friends and her pet dog. Visitation will be held Monday (April 6, 2015) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Randolph White officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends and relatives at Denny's Restaurant, Cambridge, in the banquet room.
