Francis D. Duff

Francis D. Duff passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2022.

He was born to Paul and Alta Duff in 1923 in Muskingum County, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife Polly (Barron) Duff and brother Dana Duff of Beaver, Pennsylvania. Francis and Polly were married in 1947 and were wed nearly 70 years. He is survived by a sister, Eileen Beauregard of Sylvania, Georgia and his four children, Gary (Angela) Duff of Cambridge, Ohio, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Neidenthal of Gahanna, Ohio, Steven (Diane) Duff of Westerville, Ohio and Brian (Sharon) Duff of Providence, Rhode Island. He leaves nine grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

Francis graduated from Otsego High School, Muskingum College and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Cambridge, Ohio for 67 years and was on the staff at SEORMC for 52 years. He served as president of the Muskingum Valley Dental Society, was a member of the Ohio State Dental Practice Commission, the Southeastern Ohio Health Planning Commission and was on the board of Delta Dental Insurance Company.

Francis bred, raised and showed American Saddlebred horses for many years and also raised Black Angus cattle. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion, the Elks and the American Saddlebred Breeders Association.
