Francis A. "Osh" Jamiel

Francis A. "Osh" Jamiel, 74, of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday (February 13, 2013) at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 19, 1938 in Cambridge, son of the late Alex and Julia Jamiel. Mr. Jamiel was a graduate of St. Benedict High School. He was a member of Christ Our Light Parish. He was an employee of RCA and NCR. Mr. Jamiel was a US Army veteran. He was a dedicated Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed bowling, skating, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Jamiel and Paul Jamiel. He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Karen (Glass) Jamiel; two sons, Chris (& Laura) Jamiel of Cambridge and Tom Jamiel of Cambridge; two grandsons, Jared Jamiel and Joshua Jamiel both of Cambridge; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where a vigil service will begin at 4 p.m. Mr. Jamiel will lie in state in the Marion Room at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday (February 18, 2013). Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge.
