Franklin R. Starr

Franklin R. " Frank" Starr, 83, of Cambridge, died Saturday (Nov. 11, 2017) at Astoria Place (formerly Red Carpet) of Cambridge.

He was born March 27, 1934 in Calais, Ohio, son of the late Rodney Starr and Florence Gertrude (Betts) Starr.

Mr. Starr retired from Preston Trucking Company, where he had worked as a truck driver for many

years. He was a member of the Teamsters.

Mr. Starr was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Neil, Mark, Roger, and David Starr.

He is survived by his wife, Joellen (Spence) Starr, whom he married May 26, 1952; a son, Chris (Leslie) Starr of Pittsburgh PA; a daughter, Connie (Charles) Gregory of Bradenton, FL; two grandchildren, Rachel Starr and Hannah (Chris) DiMascio; and a great-granddaughter, Lily DiMascio.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to noon at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Funeral services will take place at noon with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Old Washington Cemetery.
