**SERVICE UPDATE:  A memorial service will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy, Cambridge, on Thursday (January 30, 2020) at 6 p.m.**

Freda Mae Bennett, 91, of Cambridge, died Thursday (January 2, 2020) at Cambridge Care & Rehab.

She was born March 22, 1928 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Walter Callihan and Lillian (Frontz) Trott.

Mrs. Bennett, along with her husband, were the owners of Grandma's Sweet Shop.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

She was a wonderful grandmother to her family and the neighborhood children, making sure they were all taken care of and well-fed. She was the All-American Grandma.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Benny" Bennett, who died July 27, 1998; a son, John Bennett; a daughter, Marlene Zilka; two sisters, Mary Lou Petterson and Eileen Shepard; two brothers, Jim Trott and Larry Trott; and a grandson, Timothy Jacob Zilka.

She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Ball of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Cindy Ball, Ben (& Kim) Zilka, Mark (& Pokey) Zilka, Issac Zilka, and Troy Bennett; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and two special friends, Dave and Dehava Kissinger.

No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice, 52171 National Rd – Ste 1, St. Clairsville OH 43950.
