Frederick N. "Fred" Hollins Sr., 76, of Cambridge, passed away Thursday (September 24, 2009) at Genesis-Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville. He was born February 5, 1933 of Cambridge, son of the late Sherman Hollins and Ida Mae (Fields) Hollins. Mr. Hollins was a life-long employee of Andrew Produce Company, with over fifty years for service as a truck driver. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. He enjoyed Christian music and Christian television shows. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, sports and reading. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Hollins and Sherman Hollins; and a son, Darrell Ray Hollins. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara J. (Todd) Hollins of the home; his children, Roxanna J. Hollins of Lansing MI, Nanci (Merle) Glass Sr., Jeanie (Ernest) Phillips, Fred Hollins Jr., Tamara S. Hollins, Kevin L. Hollins and Dee Hollins all of Cambridge, Ida (Desmond) Hill and family of Columbus; his grandchildren, Michael Payton of Lansing MI, Artrese Manning of Akron, Merle (Wendy) Glass Jr. of Pickerington, Aaron (Karhla) Glass of Virginia, Eric (Amanda) Glass, Matthew (Courtney) Phillips and Zacc Phillips all of Cambridge, Cory L. Hollins of Florida, Nate Hollins of Ashland, Ashley Hollins of Columbus, Alexis Crawford, JR Crawford and Diedra (Martae) Simpson all of Cambridge, Jessika Hollins of Delmar DE, DeMikeal Simpson, Javon Masters and Tavionna Simpson all of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Patricia Todd; a nephew, Terry Todd; special friends, Henry Phillips, Forrest Quarles and Willc Taylor; many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends may call on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and also from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday (September 29, 2009) at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Randolph White officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
