Gail Lavein Payton

Gail Lavein Payton, 53, of Frankfort, Ky., and formerly of Cambridge, died Tuesday (March 3, 2015) at the Georgetown Community Hospital in Lexington, Ky. She was born June 3, 1961, in Cambridge, to the late Ira Payton and Marie Harden. Gail was a retired factory worker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and loved bingo. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. She is survived by a son, Demetri Nsiah of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Jeannida Solebah of Cambridge; two brothers, Phillip Kidwell and George Payton, both of Cambridge; six sisters, Helen Harden, Iris Payton Strong, Mary (John) Smith and Jacqueline Payton, all of Cambridge, Starlet Payton of Byesville and Myrtle Okai of Wooster, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Randolph White officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to help with Gail's final expenses.
