Gary Allen Garvin

Gary Allen Garvin, 62, of Cambridge, passed away suddenly on Monday (March 14, 2016) at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born March 27, 1953 in Cambridge, son of the late Dale Garvin and Betty (Dollison) Garvin. Gary was a 1971 graduate of Cambridge High School. He worked with Chuck Kenworthy Construction. Gary was a dedicated fan and follower of Ana Poppovic and attended all the blues festivals and concerts he could. He was an avid fisherman and an excellent cornhole & horseshoe player. A master of the grill and smoker, he loved to cook for family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving family: devoted son, Andrew Jake (Jessica) Garvin of Cambridge and Gary A. Garvin of Florida; pride and joy of his life, his grandson, Izik Garvin; loving sisters, Sandy Beers of Zanesville and Debbie Burlingame of Cambridge; a very special niece, Jayme Burlingame of Cambridge; nieces, Leann Beers Batross (Jamie Wisecarver) of Zanesville, Jetia Hollins (Jared Nelson) of Columbus, Tyria Green (Brad) Scherer of Columbus, Amber Burlingame Hall of Hilliard; and a nephew, Lee Beers of Adamsville. He was loved and adored by a special great-niece, Olivia Hood "his buddy". He also leaves a cousin, Linda Wasnich of Toledo; and many great friends, including two very special ones - Chuck Kenworthy and Rusty Thompson. Visitation will be held Friday (March 18, 2016) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, 139 S 9th St, Cambridge OH 43725.
