Gary Lee Trescott, 63, of Byesville, died Saturday (November 3, 2007) at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born on April 15, 1944 in Canton, son of Harvey Trescott and the late Elizabeth (Griffin) Trescott. Mr. Trescott was a retired military Staff Sergeant, having served for six years with the U.S. Army and also for fourteen years with the U.S. Air Force. He was a Vietnam veteran. Mr. Trescott was well-known in the area for his mechanical skills and worked as a mechanic at several locations. He was a life member of the Byesville VFW and a member of the DAV and also AMVETS. He leaves his wife, Mary Elizabeth Trescott of the home, whom he married on December 2, 1967; his father, Harvey Trescott of Texas; two sons, Gary W. Trescott of Pleasant City and Jerome A. Trescott of Byesville; a step-son, Keith Figueroa of Cambridge; a brother, Herbert (& Edna) Trescott of Claysville; two sisters, Lana (& James) Meadows of Roseville and Patricia (& James) Peterman of Zanesville; a step-granddaughter, Ann (& Brian) Campbell of Pleasant City; a step-grandson, Keith Figueroa of Cambridge; four step-great-grandchildren, Brian, Celina, Courtney and Kenny; several nieces & nephews; and a future daughter-in-law, Trudie Chase. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Wednesday (November 7, 2007) at 1 p.m. with Dave McGinnis officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
