George "David" Gyles

George "David" Gyles, 67, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday (December 28, 2019) at Southeastern Med – ER.

He was born April 30, 1952 in Upland PA. He was a graduate of Chichester High School – Class of 1970, and a student of TN Temple Bible School. He served in the US Army for three years during the Vietnam War, stationed in Okinawa. He took an early retirement from DuPont Company after 19 ½ years and became a self-employed electrician and owner of Gyles Electric for twenty-five years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred "George" Gyles and Mabel Anita "Nancy" Gyles; a child born too soon; and a grandson, Peter James Schlag.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie Gyles; children, Matthew (Tina) Gyles, Rebecca (Stephen) Schlag, Mary Gyles (Matt Wellman), Joshua (Christina) Gyles, and Elizabeth (Chris Jr.) Bates; and seventeen grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday (January 5, 2020) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, and also on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held Monday (January 6, 2020) at 10:30 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Jay Cook and Troy Woodmansee officiating.

Burial with military honors will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville.
