Georgia Elizabeth Nieb

January 9, 1932 — May 18, 2012

Georgia Elizabeth Nieb, 80, of New Concord and formerly of Byesville, died Friday (May 18, 2012) at her home. She was born January 9, 1932 in Byesville, daughter of the late Fred Moore and Ada (Ball) Moore. Mrs. Nieb retired from the former Guernsey Memorial Hospital after twenty-eight years of service. She continued to volunteer at the hospital until her most recent illness. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Cambridge. Mrs. Nieb was a graduate of Byesville High School. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Pine Court every Saturday. She loved life and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Nieb, whom she married May 10, 1952; three sisters, Narrane, Betty, and Ruth; a brother, Wib Moore; a granddaughter, Shannon Kristine Wray; a grandson, Paul Wray; and a son-in-law, Paul E. Wray. She is survived by a daughter, Lucy (& Mike) Porter of New Concord; a brother, Jimmy Moore of Streetsboro; two grandchildren, Amy (& Rick) Stillion of Quaker City and David (& Rosie) Porter of Cambridge; six great-grandchildren, Miranda, Chase, Luke, Trevor, Katie, and Alec; and several nieces & nephews, including a special nephew, Thomas Graham of Chardon. Family and friends may call on Monday (May 21, 2012) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Georgia's name to the Guernsey County Humane Society, 108A Franklin Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
