Gertrude L. Boyd

Gertrude L. Boyd, 74, of Senecaville, died Sunday (March 9, 2014) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born September 4, 1939 in Hot Springs AR, daughter of the late William Edward Ivan Laughlin and Dorothy (Woodcock) Laughlin. Mrs. Boyd was the owner of Artisan Miniatures. She was a member of the National Miniature Association, the Columbus Miniature Society, and the Guernsey County Historical Society. She was also a member of the First Families of Guernsey County and Ohio. Mrs. Boyd earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Maryland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Virginia Laughlin; and a brother, Alexander William Laughlin. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Boyd, whom she married July 4, 1959; two daughters, Jennifer Boyd of Dublin and Laurie (& Michael) Upton of Lore City; a sister, Belva Jensen of Maryland; and two grandchildren, Andrew Upton and William Upton. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Senecaville. Funeral services will be held Monday (March 17, 2014) at 10 a.m. at the Lore City United Methodist Church with Pastor Clayton Coffey officiating. Burial will be at Senecaville Cemetery.
