Gladys M. Young

Gladys M. Young, 84, of Cambridge, died Sunday (September 3, 2017) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 13, 1933 in Fairfield County OH, daughter of the late Lester J. Woltz and Bessie May (Friend) Woltz.

Ms. Young was a self-employed seamstress. She had also worked at Cambridge Cleaners & Laundry and later at SudZee's Dry Cleaner & Laundromat.

She was a 1951 graduate of Rush Creek High School and grew up in the United Brethren Church.

She enjoyed sewing and watching old crime shows on television.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Perl, Russell, and Lloyd Woltz; and a sister, Dorothy Woltz.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (& Ronnie) Burt of Buffalo, Cheryl Furbee (& Rich Hall) of Cambridge, and Rose Law of Cambridge; a brother, Creighton Woltz of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, Jessica (& Robert) Smith, Jason (& Jackie) Burt, Tiffany Furbee, Chelsea Church (& Codey Stillion), Lexus Trott (& Shane Ickes), Kenzie Trott, Billy Law (& April Lucas), and Kayla (& Michael) Jamiel; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Burt, Katelyn Siddle, Lylah Stillion, Tyson Ickes, and Kyleigh Jamiel; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday (September 8, 2017) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m.

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
