Grace "Brownie" M. Wheatley

Grace M. "Brownie" Wheatley, 77, of Cambridge, died Thursday (January 22, 2015) at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 5, 1937 in Weirton WV, daughter of the late George Frenton and Alice (Berger) Frenton. Mrs. Wheatley retired from NCR where she had been an assembler. She was also a babysitter for many area children. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Mrs. Wheatley was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was active with the church's nursery. She enjoyed reading, gardening, listening to music, and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bud, Neale, and Glenn Frenton; and a sister, Anna "Sally" Rose. She is survived by her husband, Donald "Bud" Wheatley, whom she married June 17, 1967; two daughters, Jody (& Dan) Milburn of Cambridge and T'Wana Wheatley of Cambridge; a step-son, Richard (& Amy) Wheatley of Fairbanks AK; two brothers, Spencer (& Judy) Frenton of Newark and Chuck Frenton of Greeley CO; four sisters, Kathe (& Dave) Mizer of Arizona, Sandra Hardy of Cambridge, Gin (& David) Volpe of Greeley CO, and Jane (& Dan) Ramseier of Greeley CO; six grandchildren, Joshua (& Angie) Moore, Taylour Milburn (& J.T. Good), Trystie Milburn, Hannah Moag (& Anthony Jordan), Darianne Snyder, and Adison Snyder; a great-grandson, Blake Alexander Moore; several nieces, nephews, and her daycare family; and her two dogs, Nico and Pooh. Visitation will be held Tuesday (January 27, 2015) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dan Milburn and Pastor Mark Stinson officiating. Burial will be at Center Cemetery, at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to help her great-grandson, Blake, with his future education expenses. Checks may be made payable to Joshua W.
