Harold Daniel Conrath

Harold Daniel Conrath, 87, of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday (February 18, 2009) at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born on September 1, 1921 in Cambridge, son of the late Daniel E. Conrath and Leota Pearl (Gardner) Conrath. He married Dorothy Pearl (Adkins) Conrath on March 17, 1958. Mr. Conrath was a plant maintenance engineer at the former Cambridge State Hospital for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 66 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Consistory of Columbus, American Legion Post 84 and the Cambridge VFW Post 2901. He was also a member of the Cambridge Glass Collectors Association. Mr. Conrath was a member of Faith United Methodist Church for over seventy years. Mr. Conrath was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, who passed away on August 14, 2004; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by a sister, Margaret Fortney of Canton; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Masonic Lodge services beginning at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, on Monday (February 23, 2009) at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Sperry officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
