Harold "Dick" Hughes

Harold "Dick" Hughes, 65, of Senecaville, died Tuesday (December 8, 2015) at his home. He was born June 3, 1950 in Barnesville, son of the late Harold Hughes and Neva (Gallagher) Hughes. Mr. Hughes retired from Ohio Valley Coal. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Temperanceville. He was a 1969 graduate of Cambridge High School. Mr. Hughes was a member of Cambridge Eagles Aerie 386, Buffalo VFW Post 8040, and Batesville American Legion 578. He loved old cars. He was a huge NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmas Hughes and Darryl L. Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Melba Lee "Myrt" (Stephen) Hughes, whom he married April 20, 1974; a son, Chris (& Jamie) Hughes of Cambridge, Chad (& Karen) Hughes of Malaga, and Matt Hughes of Senecaville; a daughter, Amber (& Mike) Kenworthy of Cambridge; two brothers, Dale Hughes (& Joanne Hamme) of Cambridge and Donnie (& Karen) Hughes of Old Washington; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Hughes, Camryn Hughes, Dylan Hughes, Deyton Hughes, Kinley Hughes, Caden Kenworthy, and Coy Kenworthy; eight nieces; and his mother-in-law, Marjorie Stephen of Caldwell. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Friday (December 11, 2015) at 10 a.m. with Father Paul Hrezo officiating. Burial will be at Batesville Cemetery.
