Hazel Ila Smith

Hazel Ila Smith, 90, of Middlebourne, passed away peacefully Thursday (September 30, 2010) at the Barnesville Health Care Center. She was the cherished daughter of the late Robert M. and A. Florence (Stockdale) Smith of Quaker City; dear sister of her late brothers and half sister, R. Ellis Smith, Harris W. Smith and Vialla L.(Smith) Boyd; loving aunt of Lynn (Smith) Beard of Portland OR, Sue (Smith) Barnhizer of Chagrin Falls, Anna (Smith) Moretz of Sequim WA, H. Theodore Smith of Flagstaff AZ, Stevan Smith of Chagrin Falls and Quaker City, and the late Florence (Boyd) Myers of Zanesville; great-aunt of seven nieces and nephews and great-great-aunt of fourteen. Miss Smith was a member of the Middlebourne United Methodist Church and a member of the church's Women's Missionary Society. Family and friends may call on Saturday (October 9, 2010) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Beth Mansperger officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Middlebourne United Methodist Church or to the Middlebourne Missionary Society.
