Helen Louise (Gibson) Campbell, 84, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday (July 27, 2009) at Red Carpet Health Care Center. She was born May 7, 1925 in Cambridge, and was the daughter of the late William E. Lee and Olga May (Dunning) Gibson. Helen retired in 1987 from the Kroger Co. after 29 years of service. She had also worked at Kresgee's and Harold's Royal Blue and was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, working puzzles and playing solitaire. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Richard Gibson; one sister, Libby (Gibson) Mooney and two grandchildren, Eric Campbell and Savannah Weidlich. She is survived by her husband, Ralph W. Campbell Sr. whom she married March 17, 1946; six children, Donna Jean Slasor of Grove City, Ralph W. "Butch" (Sherry) Campbell Jr., of Senecaville, William Richard "Dick" Campbell of Cumberland, David L. (Pat) Campbell of Dublin, Jerald S. "Jerry" (Marcie Miller) Campbell of the home, and E. Ann (John Blair) Weidlich of Cambridge; 12 grandchildren, Vernon (Trish) Slasor of Obetz, Michael (Melanie) Campbell of Cambridge, Timothy (Dawn) Campbell of Reynoldsburg, Matt (Heidi) Clendenning of Senecaville, Brian (Jessie) Clendenning of Cambridge, Nikki Lawson of Dublin, Jean Say of Cambridge, Lillie Say of Cumberland, R.J. and Katrin Weidlich of Cambridge, Nicole and Renee' Blair of Cambridge; 14 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren' two brothers, Harold Gibson of Cambridge and Tom (Colleen) Gibson of Pekin, ILL; two sisters, Edith Simpson and Susie Gibson, both of Cambridge; numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Evan. Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens.
