Helene Sylvia Palmer

Helene Sylvia Palmer, 79, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (January 7, 2015) at her home. She was born April 4, 1935 in Limestone ME, daughter of Nelida (Bellefleur) Cota and the late Elmer R. Cota. Mrs. Palmer retired from Cooper Industries after thirty-five years of service as a supervisor in the shipping & receiving department. She was a member of Christ Our Light Parish and a member of Catholic Daughters. She was a 1952 graduate of Limestone High School, Maine. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Palmer; her second husband, Frank Waddell; a son, Richard W. Palmer. She is survived by her mother, Nelida Cota of Cambridge; three children, Rance (& Keiko) Palmer of Surprise AZ, Kimberly (& Floyd) May of Lore City, and Denise (& Gib) Terrell of Lore City; three brothers, Norman (& Carol) Cota of Byesville, Vernon Cota of Woodland Hills CA, and Wallace James (& Susan) Cota of Norton; seven grandchildren, Jason (& Andrea) May of Lore City, Dr. Susan (& Shawn) Monahan of Henderson NV, Antionette Palmer of Las Vegas NV, Sarah Palmer of AZ, Trever Terrell of the US Air Force and currently serving in Omaha NE, Derek (& Nicole) Terrell of Columbus, and Dallas (& Melisa) Terrell of Wooster; and eleven great-grandchildren, Justice, Cameron, Madison, Mason, Madilyn, Olivia, Jesica, Zackery, Nylah, Nashton, and Nolan. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday (January 10, 2015) at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, with Father Paul Hrezo officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to 1) St. Benedict School, c/o 701 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
