Hilda L. Miller, 92, of Quaker City, died Wednesday (August 17, 2016) at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Barnesville. She was born February 18, 1924 in Barnesville, daughter of the late Lawrence Huntsman and Esther (Lynn) Huntsman. Mrs. Miller retired in 1983 from the United States Post Office after thirty years of service as a clerk at the Quaker City location. She was a member of the Central Christian Church of Quaker City and helped with all meals at the church. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished going out to dinner with her husband, Bud. She took great pride in caring for her home and enjoyed tending to her flowers and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor Huntsman and Kenneth Huntsman; and four sisters, Irene Geisey, Hazel Koerwke, Edna Phillips, and Mabel Wyscarver. She is survived by her husband, Floyd "Bud" Miller, whom she married February 23, 1946; a son, James (& Cheryl) Miller of Bellaire; two sisters, Nina Dearth and Joan Sramcik both of Columbus; two grandchildren, Bryan (& Holly) Miller and Christy (& Derek) Boyd; seven great-grandchildren, Corey Miller, Hayley Miller, Madison Miller, Laken Miller, Adah Boyd, Layla Boyd, and Jude Boyd; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday (August 20, 2016) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
