Howard E. Roe, 76, of Salesville, died Sunday (December 31, 2006) at his home. He was born August 2, 1930 in Salesville, son of the late Ernest C. Roe and Wilda Marie (Warehime) Roe. Mr. Roe was a retired crane operator for Ormet. He was also a farmer for many years. He was a member of the Salesville Church of Faith. He was an avid musician. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Laina Roe; and two brothers, Ralph William Roe and Wilford Scott Roe. He leaves his wife, Kathryn (Ward) Roe of the home, whom he married on May 20, 1948; a son, Howard Randall (& Dorothea) Roe of Salesville; three daughters, Teresa (& Ric) Lyons of Salesville, Rita (& Jerry) Bates of Salesville and Linda (& Ed) Marohnic of Orlando FL; a brother, Ernest (& Shirley) Roe Jr. of Old Washington; a sister, Virginia (& Fred) Hyde of Summerfield; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (January 4, 2007) at 11 a.m. at the Salesville Church of Faith with Pastor Jim Lee and Pastor John Neff officiating. Burial will be at Salesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to (1) Guernsey County Cancer Society, or (2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc.
