Hoye D. Sandy, 82, of Quaker City, died Thursday (October 1, 2015) at The Cardinal Place, Cambridge. He was born October 3, 1932 in Alton WV, son of the late William P. Sandy and Mary K. (Wolfong) Sandy. Mr. Sandy retired after 32½ years with the Ford Motor Company, where he had been a supervisor. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gambling, and carpentry. Mr. Sandy was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Truman, William Glen, and Dorsey; and three sisters, Wilda, Wanda, and Maxine. He is survived by his wife, Janice (Veon) Sandy; three sons, Timothy Sandy of Las Vegas NV, Dwayne Sandy of Cambridge, and Raymond Veon of Hyrum UT; three daughters, Sharon Williams of Las Vegas NV, Hope Sandy of Las Vegas NV, and Julie McClain of Brimfield; four brothers, Macile, Ronald, Jerry, and Nelson; two sisters, Shirley and Judy; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. No calling hours will be observed. A private remembrance will be held at a later date.
