Iona Jeannette Gray

Iona Jeannette Gray, 94, of Cambridge, died Monday (October 22, 2007) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. She was born on May 7, 1913 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Charles Scott Campbell and Edith Mae (Moore) Campbell. Mrs. Gray was a homemaker and a loving wife & mother who cherished and enjoyed her family. She was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church and also attended Old Cambridge Baptist Church with her daughters. Gardening and canning were her favorite pastimes. She loved family gatherings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewett Gray, who died in 1984. They were married on September 23, 1931. Also deceased are two brothers, Leonard Campbell and Richard Campbell; and a sister, Mary Campbell Shuster. She leaves four daughters, Lenora (& William) Douglas of Cambridge, Juanita Davis of Cambridge, Betty (& Bill) Davis of Cambridge and Kathy (& Jim) Gibson of Cambridge; three sons, Robert (& Debbie) Gray of Cambridge, David (& Paula) Gray of Cambridge and Len (& Shelly) Gray of Rockbridge; twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Thursday (October 25, 2007) at 11 a.m. with Rev.
