J. Louise Booth, 93, 13397 Egress Road, Kimbolton, passed away Tuesday morning (Oct. 13, 2015) at her farm bordering Salt Fork State Park. Louise was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Jefferson Township, Guernsey County, the daughter of Ethel Clara Brown Linn and Richard Bell Linn. Louise was a 1940 graduate of Madison High School and graduated from the Columbus School of Business. She worked as a secretary at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base during World War II. Later she was a cook at Bell Nursing Home in Kimbolton. She was active at the United Presbyterian Church in North Salem and was also active in local 4-H clubs and the Boy Scouts. She was a member of the Rural Neighbors Club in Guernsey County since 1947. She was married to George Harlan Booth on June 9, 1947. They were married for 56 years before George died in September of 2003. Two brothers, Richard Linn and Edward Linn, are deceased. Louise and George had five children: Barbara (James, deceased) Dover of West Palm Beach, Florida; James (Kathy) Booth, Egress Road, Kimbolton; Georgia (Tom McMillen) Booth, New Albany; Ray (Helen) Booth, Newcomerstown; and Charles (Jeanne) Booth, Westerville. Grandchildren include Joshua (Stephanie) Dover of Atlanta, Ga.; Wendy (T.S.) McVicker, Crissy Booth, Jamie (Kevin) Miller, Michael (Jacqueline Stevens) Booth, all of Guernsey County; Lindsey (Charles "Buz" Sherman) Booth of Bexley; Julia (Peter) Geldis, Bexley; Gregory (Kelly) Booth, New Lexington; Berry Booth, Texas; Dylan Booth, Philadelphia, Pa.; and Katie Perkowski, Ireland. Great-grandchildren include Caleb Dover; Alli, Logan and Anna McVicker; Evan, Brodie and Maizie Miller; Zoe, Sofia and Sam Geldis. Louise was a homemaker in the best sense, creating a warm and wonderful atmosphere not only for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren but also for anyone who stopped by her beloved farm by Salt Fork State Park. She was an accomplished seamstress and crafter. She loved to laugh and had a way with a perfectly timed phrase that made others laugh as well. She lived for her family, always saying she was blessed.
