Jack R. Marlatt, 83, of Cambridge, died Monday (May 21, 2018) at Genesis Hospice – Morrison House of Zanesville. He was born November 30, 1934 in Cambridge, son of the late Harold Marlatt and Marian (McElroy) Marlatt. Mr. Marlatt worked for thirty years as a truck driver for Central Ohio Coal. He was also a farmer and outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Marlatt and John Marlatt Sr.; and a stillborn sister. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrtle (Wood) Marlatt, whom he married April 17, 1954; two sons, Jeff (Janice) Marlatt of Cambridge and Jack (Holly) Marlatt Jr. of Cambridge; a daughter, Linda (Richard) Hall of Cambridge; a brother, Harold (Red) Marlatt of Little Rock AR; six grandchildren, Christie (John) Boyd, Ryan Marlatt, Jack (J.R.) Marlatt III, Jessica Marlatt, Harold (Zack) Marlatt, and Grant Hall; and a very dear friend, Ann Edwards, who Jack always thought of as a daughter. Visitation will be held Thursday (May 24, 2018) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery in Westland Township.
