Jack L. Mullins

Jack L. Mullins, 79, of Norwich, died Tuesday (July 5, 2011). He was born December 21, 1931 in Cambridge, son of the late Albert Lawrence Mullins and Avanell Cornilia (Talbert) Mullins. Mr. Mullins worked as a laborer at the Zanesville Airport, and retired as a machinist at Rexnor-Dana-Bosch and also at R.V.A. He was a member of EAA. He was also a member of several traditional music groups. He was a volunteer for Hospice of Guernsey Inc. Mr. Mullins was a member of the Norval Park Church of Christ, Zanesville. He also served as a driver and maintenance person for the church bus ministry. Mr. Mullins was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War as a seaman and RMSM radioman. He is survived by his wife, Sara (Hickerson) Mullins of the home; a sister, Judy (& Joe) Mahley of Cambridge; a brother-in-law, Gary (& Linda) Hickerson of Jacksonville AR; a sister-in-law, Elaine Hickerson of Newark; four nephews, Scott (& Michelle) Roberts of Cambridge, Marty Roberts of Cambridge, Tony (& Shelly) Roberts of Byesville, and Mike (& Shannon) Roberts of Cambridge; a niece, Adeana (& Joe) Mahley of Cambridge; and an aunt, Betty Keith. Jack is remembered as a very devoted son, brother, uncle, and husband. Family and friends may call on Saturday (July 9, 2011) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jim Garrett and Evang. Keith Kress officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
