James Allison "Jim" Van Dyne, age 73, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday (January 29, 2017).
He was a union carpenter for forty-two years and used this gift to serve others for thirteen years through mission work with his church, Eastside Grace Brethren.
He loved Polled Hereford cattle, was a charter member and helped build Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Lore City.
Jim loved to help others, and was also active in his church as a trustee, mission coordinator, and a member of the Forget-Me-Not Outreach.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia A. Tomak Van Dyne; his parents, Robert Sr. and Mabel Allison Van Dyne; a daughter, Paula Campagni; a brother, Robert Jr.; and a sister, Judy.
He is survived by his wife, Claudette; sons, Jimmy Van Dyne, Rick (Carrey) Van Dyne, Tony Campagni, and Gregory (Jennifer) Machmer; daughters, Robin Springsteen and Julie (Scott) Erwin; grandchildren, Benjamin, David, Austin, Kyleigh, Brendan, Nicholas, Rino, Gianna, Justin (Stevie), Dylan, Ryan, Michelle, and Gabrielle; great-grandchildren, Justin Jr., and Cailyn; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday (February 4, 2017) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Lore City, with services following at 1 p.m. with Father Paul Hrezo and Pastor Kirk Gable officiating.
Burial will be at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Lore City.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Eastside Grace Brethren Church, 7510 E Broad Street, Blacklick OH 43004.
