James R. Ball Sr.

James L. Ball Sr., 94, of Cambridge, died Saturday (January 8, 2022) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

He was born December 11, 1927 in Cambridge, son of the late Richard Ball and Maggie (Hill) Ball.

Mr. Ball retired from Columbia Gas.

He enjoyed working and gardening.  He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed coordinating family reunions.

He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Mr. Ball was a US Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (Allen) Ball, who died February 19, 2017.  They were married April 24, 1949.  Also deceased is a daughter, Vivian Ball; a son, James Ball II; and a grandson, Joe Wilkey III.

He is survived by a daughter, Carole (Joe) Wilkey of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Dennis Ball of Las Vegas NV, James (Janelle) Ball III of Columbus, and Erica (Andre) Porter of Indianapolis IN; his great-grandchildren, Vivian, Solomon, Zephaniah, Roman, Keira, Dorian, and Antwan; and a great-great-granddaughter, Anderson.

No calling hours will be observed.  No funeral services will be held at this time.
