James Donald Boyd, 83, of Cambridge died Friday (August 7, 2015) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 13, 1932, in Cambridge, son of the late Clark and Pauline (Nichols) Boyd. He retired after 22 years as a ward attendant at the Cambridge State Hospital, and was also a glass worker at Cambridge Glass. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Jean (South) Boyd on July 22, 1994; his second wife, Jacqueline R. (Brown) Boyd on Jan. 30, 2003; and a brother, Floyd Boyd. He is survived by a son, James John Boyd (Michele Adams) of Cambridge; a stepson, Walter Czarnik of Michigan; two stepdaughters, Lorraine Dunn of North Carolina and Mary Kline of Michigan; a brother, William Clark Boyd of Cambridge; a sister, Linda Cagg of Cambridge; a granddaughter, Sarah Margaret Boyd of Cambridge; seven stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Monday (August 10, 2015) at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Chad Mugrage officiating. Burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by The Guernsey County Veterans Council.
