James K. Dean

James K. Dean, 73, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (May 28, 2019) at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born August 7, 1945 in Winterset, son of the late Thomas Dean and Mary (Kirkbride) Dean.

A graduate of Madison High School, Mr. Dean had worked at Superior Hardwoods for many years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a fan of #24 Jeff Gordon. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Charlene Rapp and Mildred Irene Stilgenbauer.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Bennett) Dean, whom he married August 9, 1980; a daughter, Tiffany Dean of Cambridge; two brothers, Thomas Dean Jr. of Dover and Rodney Dean of Kimbolton; five sisters, Kathy Cramer of Kimbolton, Shirley Dean of Winterset, Arlene (& Ralph) Doherty of Cambridge, Ruby (& Virgil) Quillen of Kimbolton, and Diane Hayes of Antrim; and three grandchildren, Brenden, Breanne, and Drew.

Visitation will be held Thursday (May 30, 2019) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held on Friday (May 31, 2019) at 11 a.m.

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
