James A Devore

James A. DeVore, 68, of Cambridge passed away Friday (April 5, 2019) at Genesis Healthcare.

He was born May 5, 1950 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Garnet (Huff) DeVore and Edwin DeVore.

Mr. DeVore attended Cambridge City Schools and worked for Whiteside's of Cambridge for thirty five years doing body work, and had worked at a couple other body shops.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting before he became sick, and loved NASCAR racing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Jo Webb and Arleen Starr.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty one years, Debra (Jackson) DeVore whom he married September 10, 1977; one loving son Shawn DeVore, whom he thought the world of; two grandsons, Dakota James, whom he raised and loved as his own, and Tanner Snode of the U.S. Navy, and he was very proud of; five brothers, Robert (Nancy) DeVore of Florida, Roger (Janet) DeVore of Byesville, Gary (Mary) DeVore of New Concord, Pete (Nancy) DeVore of Cambridge, and Richard DeVore of Cambridge; four sisters, Karen (Jim) Ferguson of Cambridge, Mona Beynon of Barnesville, Nolie Burton of Georgia, and a special sister and brother in law Donnie (Dusty) Hulboy,  who have done a lot for him.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.
