James E. Frabel, 66, of Cambridge, died Thursday (December 22, 2016) at his home. He was born May 2, 1950 in Cambridge, son of the late Roy E. Frabel and Reba (Meighen) Frabel Vcelka. Mr. Frabel retired from the Cambridge City Fire Department after twenty-nine years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Derwent United Methodist Church and a 1968 graduate of Meadowbrook High School. Mr. Frabel was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901. An avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, he dearly cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Vickie (Stillion) Frabel, whom he married September 15, 1973; a son, Jesse (& Amy) Frabel of Carrollton; a daughter, Tiffany (& Mike) Hossler of Cambridge; three brothers, Larry(& Sue) Perkins of Byesville, Ken Frabel of Minnesota, and Roy "Randy" Frabel of Florida; four grandchildren, Hailey Hossler, Jacob Hossler, Ashlynn Frabel, and Landon Frabel; and a great-grandchild, KynLeigh Bichard. Visitation will be held Tuesday (December 27, 2016) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Wednesday (December 28, 2016) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Debbie Gheen officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
