James A. Goudy

James A. Goudy, 81, of Cambridge, died Friday (January 4, 2013) at his home. He was born October 28, 1931 in Akron, son of the late Everett Goudy and Mary (Click) Goudy Boyer. He moved to Cambridge in 1986. Mr. Goudy was a successful businessman owning Heritage Industrial Finishing of Akron and Byesville, a major military painter for Desert Storm. He was also the owner of Misty Meadow Bed and Breakfast. He was a member of Unity Church of Cambridge. Mr. Goudy was a US Army veteran. He was a most beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his country, nature, hunting and fishing, backroading, and being a "Santa" to many children and adults. A kinder heart will never be found. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Goudy; a sister-in-law, Sheila Goudy; and a nephew, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Victoria (Ciocco) Goudy, whom he married November 3, 1960; his children, James D. Goudy of Akron, Lorraine (& Patrick) Teague of Cambridge, and Mark Everett Goudy of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Clayton (& Kayla) Teague, Chad Teague and Krystal (& Ali) Al Ateah; a brother, David (& Edith) Goudy of Florida; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (January 8, 2013) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Burt Campbell officiating. Military services will also be held by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Goudy's name to one of the following organizations: 1) Guernsey County Cancer Society, 927 E Wheeling Ave, Suite 205, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey, PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
