James B. Mehaffey

James B. "Jim" Mehaffey, age 83, of Cambridge, died Monday, May 14th, 2018 at the Morrison House in Zanesville.

He was born in Cambridge on October 19th, 1934, son of the late Walter F. Mehaffey and Mary B. Oliver-Mehaffey.

Jim was retired from Champion Spark Plug after 30 years of employment and was a farmer.  He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a member of the Farm Bureau.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; John O. Mehaffey and Robert Mehaffey and a sister, Lulu Pauline Duffey.

Mr. Mehaffey is survived by a son, James D. (& Teresa) Mehaffey of Norwood, NC, three daughters; Susan L. (& Jonathan) Wing of Cambridge, Amy J. (& Davin) Wilkins of Chandlersville, OH, and Rhonda K. (& Matthew) Hanes of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Francis Mahaffey of Cambridge and the mother of his children, Esther P. Mehaffey of Cambridge.  Eight grandchildren, Ian and Kate Wing, Hope, Kaleb and Devin Wilkins, Arlene and Harley Courtwright, and Jonah Hanes and four great-grandchildren.  Three nieces, Peg (& Hal) Ringer, Betsy Enochs, Mary Jane (& Jim) Gibson. Three nephews; Dr. John R. (& Twana) Mehaffey. Thomas Mehaffey, and Robert (& Maxine) Duffey

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 pm at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 17th, 2018 at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Hutchison officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge.
