James L. Milton

**Graveside services will be held on Tuesday (July 21, 2009) at 10:00 a.m. at Northwood Cemetery for James L. Milton, who died on July 12, 2009 and Fern (Addy) Milton, who died on May 8, 2006. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.** James L. Milton, 86, of Cambridge, died Sunday (July 12, 2009) at the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 25, 1923 in Byesville, son of the late Hallie Milton. He was raised by his grandmother, Elsie Milton. Mr. Milton retired from Phillips Products, where he was a personnel manager and a purchasing agent. He married Fern A. (Addy) Milton on July 21, 1946. He was a 1941 graduate of Byesville High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Byesville. Mr. Milton was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during WWII. He was a life member of the Cambridge V.F.W. Post 2901. He was a life member of the Cambridge Elks Lodge # 448. He loved playing cards with his Elks buddies. In addition to his mother & grandmother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fern A. Milton, who died on May 8, 2006; and a son, Ronald Milton, who died on January 7, 1997. He is survived by a son, Jay Milton of Cambridge; a daughter, Donna (& Michael) Hill of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Adam Hill of Manhattan KS and Valerie (Keaton) Riddle of Minot ND; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Addy of Cambridge and Cleo McHenry of Florida. No services will be held at this time.
