James B. Stevens

James B. Stevens, 82, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (January 30, 2019) at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus

He was born January 14, 1937 in Zanesville, son of the late Theodore "Willis" Stevens and Ethel (Needham) Stevens.

Mr. Stevens was a retired truck driver. He had worked for Human Services Transportation for many years.

He loved beer and baseball, and outdoor activities like fishing and camping, and spending time with his family.

He was Christian by faith. He was a very loving and special father and grandfather.

Mr. Stevens was a US Air Force veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Stewart Stevens, Leroy Stevens and Larry Stevens; and a sister, Carolyn Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Hart) Stevens, whom he married on April 15th, 2003; three sons, James Stevens Jr. of Cambridge, Derek Stevens of Coshocton, and Tavio Soto of South Dakota; four daughters, Janice Jones of Cambridge, Tracey Stevens of Cambridge, Dee Stevens of Zanesville, and Dasha Stevens of Akron; two stepsons, Eddie Toledo of Cambridge and Joe Toledo of Cambridge; a stepdaughter, Victoria (& Pat) Sullivan of Cambridge; a brother, Theodore "Teddy" (& Sheila) Stevens of Akron; three sisters, Gloria (& Bob) Mayle of Chesterhill, Sharon Mayle of Zanesville and Starla Stevens of Zanesville; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (February 5, 2019) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Charlie Hart officiating. Military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council will conclude the funeral service.
