James Richard Wright

James Richard Wright, 73, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (May 23, 2007) at his home. He was born on December 14, 1933 in Monticello NY, son of the late Edward Byron Wright and Harriet (Gerow) Wright. Mr. Wright was a controller at Fabri-Form for 36 years, having retired in 1997. He was a 1956 graduate of Kent State, where he received a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of Elks Lodge #448, a YMCA Board member and a president of the Jaycees. He received the JCI Senator Award. Mr. Wright was chairman of the United Way, a board member of the Cambridge Country Club and president of the Cambridge Band Boosters. He was a Summer League baseball coach for many years and a Bitty-League football coach. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. Mr. Wright's true passion in life was his family. He leaves his wife, Mary Ellen (Barvitski) Wright of the home, whom he married on September 24, 1955; a son, Ed (& Brenda) Wright of Cambridge; three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Wright of Cambridge, Cynthia Ann McCormick of Cambridge and Barbara Ellen (& Larry) Paden of Lore City; a sister, Mary Angeline Elliott of Woodbridge, NY; seven grandchildren, Robert Tyler Rivers, Brittany Leann Rivers, James Bradley Wright, Rachel Mary Wright, Nathan Edward Wright, Carson James Paden and Carter Ross Paden; a great-grandchild, Benjamin Tyler Rivers; and several nieces & nephews. No calling hours will be observed. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, on Saturday (May 26, 2007) at 10 a.m. with Father Robert Borer officiating. Private family burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to (1) Guernsey Valley Baseball Associayion, c/o Don Coss, 1030 Cobo Lane, Cambridge OH 43725; or (2) St. Benedict Catholic Church, 714 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
