Janet Yvonne Barstow

Janet Yvonne Barstow, 79, formerly of Cambridge, went home to be with the Lord on Monday (April 3, 2017). She was born April 5, 1937 in McConnelsville, daughter of the late Raymond Ronald Ray and Edna Beulah (Chambers) Ray. Mrs. Barstow retired from the Guernsey County Department of Human Services, where she had worked as a fraud investigator for many years. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Byesville and the Grace Fellowship Church of Pickerington. Mrs. Barstow attended the University of Akron, majoring in art studies.  She was a member of the Senior Citizens Centers in both Cambridge and Pickerington. She enjoyed gardening and volunteering her time at nursing homes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene C. Barstow, who died July 2, 2013; her brother, Roger Ray; and her brother and his wife, Max & Ann Ray. She is survived by a son, Gary (& Patsy) Barstow of Pickerington; a sister, Karen (& Randy) Belohavek of Jacksonville FL; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Barstow, Rachel Barstow, and Matthew Barstow. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held Saturday (April 8, 2017) at 1 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church, Byesville, with Pastor Jeremiah Olson and Pastor Steve Leathley officiating.
